What if You Stopped Sleeping?

Tick tock , tick tock Wake up!!!!! Wake up!!!!! Are You Late again?????? We all have wished at least once in our life, that we never have to deal with such a struggle in the morning. Have you ever thought , that it would be better if you never went to bed, so what if you never went to bed or how long this sleepless nights could last? Could you even be productive? If so what will exactly happen to your body if you won’t sleep ? Let’s be curious!!

What happens if you stop sleeping?

If you took sleep out of your daily routine , then you would have all 24 hours of your day to do any thing you want.
According to researches an average person spends one third of their life lying on their beds.
It might sound like a waste of a time, but not for your body.

💡 Do you know? While you sleep, human body releases hormones to repair tissues , and to replace old ones with new tissues.

So what if you don’t sleep?

Not much at first , just spending a 24 hour in your life without any sleep will not have a great effect, you will completely be fine. The reason is , sleeplessness will stimulate the mesolimbic pathway in your brain. This pathway is responsible for releasing dopamine , so you could feel happy and full of energy. But this happiness won’t last long.

Soon after reaching 24 hours, all the body reactions will get slowed. The brain will start to forget what the person was doing.

What about two days without sleep? The human body will start shutting down , by stopping all the mechanisms of glucose metabolism, resulting less energy supply. Eyes would turn red , skin would turn pale and appearance would change. What about three days without sleep? Hallucinations!! Sleeplessness will then bring all the dreams and nightmares to life. Not only that , at 3 day mark the human body will start damaging its own proteins. So the human body will use all the energy sources it could find , like glucose left overs, muscles , fat , tissues. After about two weeks the immune system will get severely week , resulting deaths , even due to a common flue. Three weeks after the last sleep, heart attack would be the causes of death. Time duration where a human could stay alive without sleeping will depend on his fat concentration of the body.

💡 How much sleep do a human body actually needs? According to the report of National Sleep Foundation , minimum of seven hours of sleep will be a step to the right direction for improving the human health
